Archbishop André Léonard, Primate of Belgium


Archbishop of Manila-Brussels will speak "Adoration and mercy in the Gospel, in the school of Mary Magdalene". He will preside the Holy Mass


Archbishop André Léonard was born in Jambes in Belgium on May 6, 1940. He entered the seminary and after studies in Rome he was ordained priest for the Diocese of Namur on 19th July 1964. He was appointed Bishop of Namur in 1991 and he adopted the name of André-Mutien. On 27th February 2010 he was elected as Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Mechelen-Brussels becoming, by means of this title, the Primate of Belgium, and chooses for his name André-Joseph, St. Joseph being the patron saint of Belgium.
